Compass Focus:

EDUCATORS-Families-Churches

“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us.” 2 Corinthians 5:20

Compass believes Christian educators are called to the largest "across the street" mission field in our nation.  As public school educators, you are on the front lines. Compass wants to come alongside you, connect you to others with a similar calling, equip you to navigate your public school journey in a God-honoring way, and encourage you to live and share your faith at school legally, yet authentically.

Our prayer is that as God affirms your calling as a public school educator, and you understand and live out your religious liberties, God will give you a vision for impact within your public school.

Compass Strives To Connect, Equip & Impact

  • Compass is committed to bringing together the body of Christ within our schools Hebrews 10:24-25 - “Let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another-and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

Local School Connections- Compass community starts the most organically at the local school level. God is leading educators to take the step of faith to reach out to their colleagues to start prayer groups and Bible studies at school outside their contract hours. To learn more about steps to do this, click here.

District-wide Connections- As these local school groups grow, we are seeing them connect across their districts to build district-wide groups. These groups may gather corporately across their district for prayer, accountability, and encouragement various times throughout the year. Click here to learn about one district wide group.

Regional Connections - Leaders have stepped up to build Compass community in various MN regions to build local support for Christian educators in their area. Click below to connect with leaders in your region and learn more about community, resources, and events in your area.

  • Compass is committed to equipping our Christian educators in the public schools. We do this through workshops, speakers and by partnering with other organizations who have valuable resources to prepare our educators for impact within our schools. Compass loves our partnership with Christian Educators. The mission at Christian Educators is to support, connect and protect Christian educators in order for them to serve as thriving ambassadors for Christ in our schools. Many Compass educators participate in a one day equipping event through Christian Educators called the AWAKE Experience.

    The AWAKE Experience includes:

    1-Intentional time alone with God

2-Discussion and connection with other Christian educators

3-Bible study and applying Scriptural truths to our lives

4-Training in legal freedoms for public school educators

5-Discovering truths that will transform the way we see our jobs as educators

Religious Liberties in the Public Schools

At Compass we are committed to equipping our educators and families to better understand their religious liberties as Christians in the public schools. Although Christian educators cannot establish religion in their classrooms, there are many ways they can live and express their faith legally and authentically. Educators are also in a unique position to support and encourage students to live out their religious freedoms as well. To learn more about your religious liberties as Christians in the public schools, click HERE.

  • God calls Christians to be His ambassadors, “as though He were making His appeal through us.” 2 Cor 5:20. At Compass, we work to equip our educators for impact. As the body of Christ, we ask God to lead and guide us as we come together to represent Him within our schools. Sometimes He calls us to large scale prayer, care or share efforts, and sometimes to small, thoughtful ways He is leading us personally to reach into our schools and into the lives of those we know. To learn more about ways to intentionally strive for impact, see opportunities for prayer, care and share.

Upcoming Events For Educators

You can make an impact in your school through intentional PRAYER, CARE and SHARE efforts:

Prayer

Compass educators and families understand the power of prayer and are intentional in how they pray for their schools, students and staff.  They know that it is only through prayer, and the power of the Holy Spirit, that they can positively impact their schools.

2 Chronicles 7:14  - “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Care

At Compass we strive to be the hands and feet of Christ by meeting our schools’ most basic needs.  We make extraordinary efforts to show His love to others by finding practical ways to serve generously.

.Ephesians 2:10 - “For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God has prepared in advance for us to do.”

Matthew 5:16 - “Let your light shine before others that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Share

At Compass we are open to opportunities God brings for us to legally and authentically share the hope we have in Christ. God calls us to always be prepared to give an answer for the hope that we have.  We are compelled by compassion and love to share our faith with gentleness and respect, and in a way that draws others to Him.

1 Peter 3:15 - “Always be prepared to give an answer for the hope that you have but do so with gentleness and respect.”
